The 2nd day of racing at Ocean Lava was another day full of amazing results.
However the day was dampened by the crash that Jorge Wilkes was involved in. A nasty head on collision with another cyclist was a very unfortunate situation. Jorge has very nasty face injuries but has come out of the accident with a broken thumb, so lucky not to be worse. Everyone at Bayliss Multisport is wishing you a fast recovery Jorge.

In the Half distance triathlon ever improving Michael Lavender was able to show the amazing training we see day in and day out. 2 minutes 15 seconds from the lead in the swim, but after the 90km bike he was in the lead by 1 minute 30 seconds. During the run he increased his lead to take a very special win. Well done Michael!
Stephen Bayliss pulled out his racing kit and gave the race his best shot. Stephen exited the water in first place, he came off the bike in 2nd place and finished the run in 3rd place. A gutsy performance on minimal training.

Lucy Biddlestone came out the water with a little time lost in 4th place, on the bike her ever improving strength was shining as she came off the 90km bike in 2nd place. Lucy kept her 2nd position to the finish line. Congratulations Lucy.

In the Olympic distance Triathlon Simon Leadbeater had a storming race finishing top 10 overall and 1st in his category. Great to see your fitness improving again after battling a stubborn injury.
Brian Timmons has been ramping his training up the past 2 weeks after a busy time with work. Brian had a great swim, was patience on the bike and run and came to the finish line smiling and happy. Well done Brian. Great to see you back in action.
Marcos Knight gave himself the challenge of the Olympic distance triathlon. Marcos has been quietly working on his fitness after some injury problems and it was great to see him back in action today. Well done Marcos.

In the Super Sprint triathlon Jorge Wilkes was having a great race with Harry Holdaway when unfortunately he came off his bike. We all want you to have a fast recovery Jorge.
Mia Leadbeater was flying and won the womens race. Well done Mia.
Leila Thom who has been putting in great training in over the summer and her training shining finishing 2nd overall. Well done Leila!
Sidney Nugent who has also upped her training recently and raced to her full potential today to make it a full Bayliss Multisport podium. Congratulations Sidney.
Mille Dennis was 4th over the line, Congratulations Millie on gutsy race today. Keep up the great work.
Unfortunately Becky Rowe punctured on the bike after a good swim, Becky did not give up though, she rode the whole course on the flat tyre, then ran well to finish the race and picked up the medal.
Leo Knight had a strong race from start to finish. Great work Leo on a great top 6 finish.
Alfonso Tejera Toledo signed up for the race 2 weeks ago. Alfonso upped his training in that time and today finished the race strong. We are proud of you Alfonso and great to see you out there racing today.
Claire Leadbeater, in her first triathlon finished so strong today. With no problems at all, it was a pleasure to watch you swim, bike and run today Claire. From non triathlete to Triathlete! You are doing amazing Claire!! Keep up the great training.
