Description
Ever since I was little I had been involved in all kinds of sports, team sports like handball or soccer, but also individual sports like cycling, which became a big interest of mine. As late as the age of 29 years, I decided to pick up a new challenge and add the swim and run, in order to once finishing an Ironman.
What was a once in a lifetime goal at first, quickly became a big part of my life. Now, another 10 years later, Triathlon has become my biggest passion.
I’ve been coached by Trisutto coach Lisbeth Kristensen for more than 5 years now and have learned, how much a great coach-athlete teamwork can achieve. Training under the Trisutto methodology helped me achieving numerous great results, enjoy the sport, being around like-minded people and living my passion. Learning from Lisbeth and Brett has shown me why I’m a big believer in the Trisutto method of coaching.
Getting the Trisutto Certification and to learn from the best was the logical step for me in order to become a better coach. I also have a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Applied Science Nordwestschweiz and worked full time as accountant/consultant for years before changing my main focus to Triathlon, so I understand how life circumstances can affect and limit the training.
As part of becoming a better coach, I’m currently studying (Master's degree) Mental Coaching at the University of Salzburg, as I’m a strong believer that the mind is a very important part in how much of your potential you are actually going to use. As both a coach and an athlete I consider shared passion on both sides as the basic foundation in the pursuit of the athlete’s goals, no matter the level of the athlete!
Why do you work with Trisutto?
It’s very important for me to coach within a methodology that I really believe in and within an entity with high ethical standards and high values. Every athlete is unique, has different expectations and goals. At Trisutto I get to treat every athlete as an individual while using a method that brought so many athletes to reach their goals and even more.
What have you achieved in your coaching career?
As a coach, so far I have athletes who have improved a lot and reached big PB’s at half and full distance races.
As a Trisutto athlete: Overall winner Ironman Haugesund 2018 and Ironman 70.3 Kronborg 2016, overall age group title at Challenge the Championship 2018, multiple other overall age group wins, 15x age group wins at half/full distance, close to 30x podium. 6x AWA Gold (Winner 2017 AWA 70.3-Ranking), 2x competing in Kona and numerous Top 10’s at the professional level. And all exclusively while being coached by Trisutto coach Lisbeth Kristensen.

I am now almost a year with Melanie as my coach. I did have coaches before. I really can just recommend her. During that year there was no week we did not comunicate with each other. She is a great listener and gives useful advice. Her training does not get boring, stays challenging. The trainings are very well explained. Whenever I had/have changes because of family or work schedule or weather changes, she managed to rearrange my trainings right away to get the best out of my time. I am very happy with Melanie and the progress in swimming, biking and running made during that time.
