The 8 week Alpe d'Huez training plan incorporates the trisutto training principles (which are explained in the plan introduction section), to maximise your training time and results. Program duration is 8 weeks, plus race week. Race week taper and advice on post race recovery are included.


Assuming an existing triathlon fitness where athletes could comfortably complete a Sprint distance Triathlon, we recommend an 8 week dedicated training plan as preparation for the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon M. Our goal is:

1. To have the swim fitness that allows us to start the bike feeling fresh
2. Bike strength and endurance that allows us to run well after a challenging bike course

3. Develop the run strength and technique to run to our ability.
